Islam Awareness Week is from March 15th - March 19th.

Our theme this year is the five pillars of Islam - Testimony of faith, Prayers, Charity, Fasting and Pilgrimage.

Monday - Experience Fasting We are encouraging everyone to fast  on campus (students, workers, faculty...) and we will be having a short program followed by Dinner. 7:00 - 8:00pm in AUX gym

Tuesday - We are collaborating with the Jewish Student's Association because we share the same concept of Charity (Sadaqah/Tzedaka) in Arabic and Hebrew respectively. The even is called Toonies for Toddlers where students donate $2 and make little food packages for children at Mission Services which is a Christian non non-profit organization serving men, women and children in the great Hamilton Area. We will have a booth in Wentworth from 10:00 - 4:30pm

Wednesday - For the first time MSA is working with the Hindu Students' Association and we're having a student-led dialogue called Faith in Focus. The topic this year is Worship and Sacred Scriptures in Islam and Hinduism. In MDCL 1110 from 5:30 - 7:00pm

Thursday - We have a lecture by Sh. Abdullah Idris called One God, One Message where he will discuss the concept of Monotheism in Islam and what Gods message was. This lecture will take place in BSB 136 from 5:30 - 7:00pm

Friday -
Every Friday we have a weekly congregational prayer were we have approximately 300 - 400 students, faculty and community members who attend. On March 19th we will all meet outside the Student Center at 1:15pm and walk to east AUX gym where we will have a sermon followed by prayer at 1:30pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
