Qira'atul Quran Competition

The Qira'atul Quran Competition (QQC) is an annual competition hosted by McMaster MSA. MashAllah, now running in it’s twelfth year, the competition brings together our brothers and sisters from various universities and junior schools for the common purpose of glorifying the words of Allah (swt) in the Holy Quran. This year the Brothers Senior and Juniors competition will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Sisters competition will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at McMaster University. Please see the Sisters QQC section for more information. The Brothers Seniors and Juniors Registration will begin at 11:30 am and the competition will begin at 1:00 pm inshAllah. The competition for the Brothers Senior category will be in the bracket style format and the top prize is $1 500.00 for the winning team's MSA. This year the judges have stepped up the challenge and the competition is TOUGH! Who will make it through? Who will take home the grand prize? With interactive sessions for the audience, QQC is bringing it like never before. Come out on March 6, 2010 and be there to witness it all!

Qiratul Quran Competition is just around the corner, and MacMSA needs to pick its teams! If you are interested in joining for the brothers' team, please email president[at]macmsa.com. For those who do not know about QQC, it is a inter-university competition held between most of the MSAs in our region. InshaAllah this will be it's 12th year, and the winning MSA takes $1,500. McMaster won last year, and inshaAllah we will win again this year! The Road to QQC in which the team (brothers) is selected will be this Thursday, Jan. 28, 1:00 p.m. Mills L403 inshaAllah. You will just be required to read, and will not be tested on memorization. So if you are interested, or know someone who might be and goes to Mac, send an email to president [at] macmsa.com asap!

The annual Quira'atul Quraan Competition is back for 2009! Join us on Sat. March 28th for an unforgettable night of celebrating the holy Quraan!
